Fuel EX 5 is the gateway to full suspension trail bikes. Trail-taming RockShox front and rear suspension, a Shimano 1x12 drivetrain, a dropper post for getting low on descents, and hydraulic disc brakes make Fuel EX 5 a high-value, high-performance mountain bike with exceptional versatility.
It's right for you if...
You're ready to go full suspension, and you want a versatile trail bike at a great value. You want a ride that's sure-footed, capable, and responsive so you can stay in control no matter where you're riding.
The tech you get
A lightweight aluminum frame with a Straight Shot down tube for extra stiffness in the rough, and a Knock Block steerer stop to protect against spinning bars. A 140mm RockShox Recon Silver fork, 130mm of rear travel with an X-Fusion Pro 2 shock, a durable 12-speed Shimano Deore drivetrain, dropper post, and hydraulic disc brakes.
The final word
You get full suspension performance without the sticker shock. Fuel EX 5 has the same frame technology as our higher-end alloy Fuel EX models with parts chosen to keep the price tag low and stoke level high.
Why you'll love it
- You get a high-end ride at an exceptional value with frame features like Boost148 and ABP that give you confident handling and room to upgrade parts as your skills grow

- The dropper post lets you lower your saddle on the fly so it's out of the way on descents
- The RockShox fork's Solo Air spring can easily be adjusted for a specific rider weight, and it's lighter than a coil spring
- We expanded our size range to ensure a better fit for all riders. And, you get the fastest wheel that fits your frame: XS frames get 27.5" wheels, S frames get to choose between 27.5" or 29", and sizes M to XL get 29" wheels

Bullet-proof, time-proven suspension at an unbeatable price.
People say you have to spend a hell of a lot of cash to buy a full-suspension bike. Or at least a full-suspension bike that truly performs. They’re usually right. Usually. But not this time around. The Atroz proves them wrong with four inches of reliable coil-sprung rear suspension that nicely smooths out the trail. Since you’ll need to climb to the top of the mountain, we’ve also given the Atroz a 18-speed Shimano drivetrain, and when it’s time to head back down, you’ll find the Suntour XCM suspension fork and Tektro Aries mechanical disc brakes keep you firmly in control of the descents.
- Hand-built 4-inch travel aluminum alloy full-suspension frame is super strong
- Optimized single pivot with sealed cartridge bearings for smooth, durable performance
- 18 gears courtesy of Shimano 2x9 drivetrain
- SR Suntour XCM fork with 120mm of suspension travel
- Tektro Aries mechanical disc brakes w/ 180/160mm rotors
- 27.5” wheels offer quick handling

“Adventure bikes” are often plodding beasts of burden that sacrifice thrills in the pursuit of extra stability. Well, where’s the adventure in that? We went a different route entirely. By adding 2.8” wide, plus-size tires to our Level Link suspension, we’ve created a bike that absolutely rips on tight trails, but does so with the extra grip and control of a plus-size bike. Voila — adventure made awesome. We gave the Catch a slack-but-not-too-slack front end. We wanted control on fast descents, but we weren’t willing to give up maneuverability on tight trails. A Sram SX Eagle 12 speed drivetrain gives you the gearing to tackle any terrain and TRP Slate X2 hydraulic disc brakes bring this machine to a tidy stop. If you’re looking to tackle rough terrain and want the ultimate in control, without sacrificing the thrill of riding, the Catch is your bike.

The Release 1 is proof positive that getting a great bike doesn’t always require that you fork over a great big pile of cash. Built from a light yet tough aluminum frame, this all-mountain ripper features our much-lauded Level Link suspension design, which isolates chain forces from trail inputs. Or to employ less tech-geek speak, the suspension doesn’t bob when you stomp on the pedals, yet becomes extremely plush the moment your wheels start smacking roots and rocks. Our entry-level Release 1 is actually anything but “entry.” We’ve equipped it with an SR Suntour Aion suspension fork and a SR Suntour EDGE R rear shock, our Blanchard tubeless-ready wheelset, and Sram SX Eagle drivetrain components. TRP Slate X2 hydraulic disc brakes help bring you to a stop, though stopping is probably going to be the last thing you want to do when you bring this bike up to speed.

The Release 4C features the same bottomless-feeling rear suspension and deft handling as our aluminum Release models, but with an even lighter, stiffer chassis built from carbon fiber. It starts with our Level Link suspension system, which isolates chain forces from trail inputs, meaning the suspension doesn’t bob when you stomp on the pedals, yet becomes extremely plush on technical descents. For smooth bump-eating performance, the Release 4C is equipped with a Fox Float DPS EVOL LV rear shock and a 150mm travel Fox 36 Performance Float fork. SRAM’s NX Eagle 12-speed single-ring drivetrain provides consistent shifting and, thanks to its 50-tooth granny gear, makes short work of pesky climbs. SRAM G2 R brakes keep you slicing through the most technical lines all day long.

A durable design and the latest innovations, all in a single package.
With the Atroz 3, we took the proven and refined single-pivot full-suspension design and upped the ante in a big way. It's a full RockShox affair when it comes to suspension, including the five-inch-travel Recon RL air-sprung fork with 32mm stanchions and a thru-axle. Likewise, we outfitted this model with SRAM's SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain—all the simplicity and durability of a single-ring drivetrain, with the low gearing you once needed a front derailleur to obtain. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes provide plenty of stopping power, and we finished the bike off with a Race Face Chester bar and stem combo.

$2,550.00
The Release 29 1 is a big-wheeled ripper made for long days and big lines. This aluminum 29er is built on the same 130mm-travel Level Link suspension platform as its smaller-wheeled siblings. We've adjusted the geometry for 29-inch wheels while keeping the same playful attitude of all our Level Link bikes. An SR Suntour Aion suspension fork and a Suntour Edge R rear shock soak up the rough stuff, while SRAM SX Eagle drivetrain components keep you cranking. Our Blanchard wheelset is tubeless compatible and comes with 2.3-inch-wide WTB Vigilante Comp tires for unwavering traction. When it's time to slow down, TRP Slate X2 hydraulic disc brakes keep you on your line all the way down the mountain.

$3,400.00
The Release 29 2 is the lankier sibling of the Release and Catch full-suspension mountain bikes. Designed for high-mileage days with a high shred factor, this aluminum trail ripper is built on the same 130mm-travel Level Link suspension platform as its smaller-wheeled siblings. We've adjusted the geometry for 29-inch wheels while keeping the same playful attitude that our Level Link bikes have become known for. The Fox Float DPS Performance shock is outfitted with an EVOL LV air sleeve for excellent responsiveness and a bottomless feel to soak up the worst on steep, technical terrain. A 140mm travel Fox Rhythm 34 fork, Shimano SLX drivetrain, and hydraulic stoppers let you stay focused, no matter what the trail dishes out.

Reliable, affordable, and capable of nearly erasing roots and rocks.
We love hardtails, but there's no denying the benefits of full-suspension mountain bikes—the added comfort and control. Unfortunately, dualies often add another thing: more dollar signs to the price tag. That's not the case here. The Atroz utilizes sealed cartridge bearings in an understated single-pivot design to deliver smooth, durable performance. The Atroz 2 ups the ante with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, Suntour air-sprung rear suspension and an easy-to-operate single-ring drivetrain—features you usually find on bikes with a whole lot more dollar signs on their price tags.
